Ambrose Obongo

Bio

Ambrose Obongo Mbuya is a native of Kenya, Africa. He is one of the founding members of EPM and the Coordinator of its activities in Lake Victoria Bioregion. Ambrose is currently a Master of Arts Candidate in Religion at the Maseno University in Kenya. His area of research include African Christian Theology, Religion and Culture, Religion and Ecology, Ethics, Religion and Development. Ambrose has a keen interest on issues of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation from the theological point of view especially as these affect Africa and her people. Mr Obongo is a professional teacher with a Diploma in Education and Religious Studies from the Marist International College, Nairobi-Kenya (1994), and a Bachelor of Religious Studies with Education from Pontifical Urban University, Rome (1994). He did a one year course in Planning and Management Development Projects (DPM) at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (1995). He worked for the Benedictine Fathers as assistant project coordinator in their community project in the Nanyuki Slums, Kenya (1996-7). He has taught in several Girls High schools and also served as a Vice Rector of St. Gabriel's Minor Seminary in Kisumu Catholic Archdiocese (1997-2002). Ambrose is married to Lilian with three children: Perpetua, Conrad, and Mary.
